Polk County Master Gardeners are looking forward to seeing as many individual entries as possible next week in the Polk County Fair. They will be assisting the Fair Board in the Farm Crops, Fruits and Vegetables, and Horticulture Departments. But there are many other departments that provide a multitude of other opportunities to showcase your talents: Food Preservation, Baked Goods, Household Arts & Crafts, Art, Photography. The number of entries determines the size of the grant awarded to the Fair Board for next year. More entries equals more money for next year’s Fair. Pick up the Fair Catalog, read through the possibilities, and get inspired!
Exhibit entries for Potted Plants, Fruits, Vegetables, and Farm Crops should be brought to the Education Building at the Fair grounds Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1 – 7 p.m.
Fruits, Vegetables, and Farm Crops can be brought in either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Flower Arrangements and Bouquets, and Fresh Cut Flowers should come in Wednesday, Aug. 31, 7:30 – 10 a.m. There will be a strict cut-off time at 10.
