The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of April 13 – 19, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
April 13, 2014
Amanda Lee Wren, 18, of Cove, Douglas Dewayne Defluiter, 19, of Cameron, OK, Jennifer Dale Rose, 18, of Cove, and two Polk County youths, ages 17 and 16, both of Grannis, were all cited for violation of Mena city ordinance 2211, being in a city park after curfew.
April 14, 2014
A 17-year-old Mena youth was cited for careless/prohibited driving after an incident culminating on the parking lot at Mena High School.
Report was taken of the theft of a coin collection from a local flea-market/antique store. John Joe Mejia, 39, was arrested earlier in the week for similar incidents and was charged with criminal impersonation first degree, breaking or entering a building or structure and theft in an amount greater than $5,000. All charges were felonies. The coins reported missing on this date were in his possession at the time of his arrest.
April 15, 2014
Amber Faye Quaker, 36, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
David Joseph Hill, 40, of Mena was charged with careless/prohibitive driving. He was additionally served an outstanding warrant.
April 16, 2014
Shawn A. Long, 37, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
Amanda Mae Duff, 26, and Charles E. Duff, 26, both of Mena were cited for obstructing governmental operations after officers attempted to make a felony warrant arrest at a local residence.
Joshua Wayne Powell, 31, of Red Oak, Texas was charged with inhaling intoxicants after a call to a local laundromat regarding a man attempting to gain access to vehicles parked there.
April 17, 2014
Report was taken of someone vandalizing the front door lock at the local EMS office. Case is pending.
April 18, 2014
Charlene E. O’Flynn, 43, of Mena was charged with DWI and careless driving after an accident on a Mena highway.
Leisa Eaton, 42, and Lake Richards, 55, both of Mena were cited for theft of property (shoplifting). Issuance of the citations followed an investigation into an incident occurring earlier in the month.
April 19, 2014
Cynthia Anglin, 54, of Mena was charged with DWI and careless/prohibited driving after a traffic stop on a local highway.
Officers completed an additional ten reports and worked five accidents.
