Dr. & Mrs. Burgess Honored by the HSO

Volunteers of Humane Society of the Ouachitas met at LaVilla’s Mexican Restaurant recently to honor Dr. Randy Burgess, DVM, and his wife, Kita Burgess, with the presentation of a plaque, for the ways they support HSO and the community in areas of veterinary medicine. The plaque reads: “”In grateful appreciation for your outstanding service to your community, the animals, and the people who care for them.”   In a letter of appreciation, read aloud by HSO President Stephanie Povey, several acts of kindness were cited such as Dr. Burgess’s support of the 4-H Rabies Clinic, taking extra time out of their office’s busy schedule to schedule shelter animals who need attention especially on an emergency basis, and insuring quality care to those animals.  Pictured is Dr. and Kita Burgess with HSO President Stephanie Povey, the plaque and a group shot of those present while Stephanie makes the presentation.
