Wickes graduate Zac Counts, is one of only 12 students from across the nation to have been awarded an assistantship for a prestigious printmaking workshop. Counts graduated from Wickes High School in 2011. He is currently a senior graphic design major at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. His assistantship will be for the 2015 Frogman’s Printmaking Workshop at the University of South Dakota.
Counts is expected to graduate in May with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design. Dawn Ward, Professor of Art and head of Arkansas Tech’s Department of Art, said the workshops host printmakers for intense weeklong sessions in specialized printmaking courses and provide attendees with valuable networking and inspirational connections that help advance their careers.
Funding from the assistantship and from the Arkansas Tech Student Development Fund will help Counts defray costs.
