A SWEPCO main transmission line from DeQueen is down this morning (March 17) that has both the Mena and Cove sub-stations for Rich Mountain Electric Cooperatives also down. Cooperative Manager Leon Philpot said that he has been advised by SWEPCO officials that crews have been dispatched and are told that power will be restored quickly.
Philpot said at this time, approximately 3,500 of its customers have been affected.
This is the second outage in the last week. The first on Saturday as all of Mena awoke to a complete power outage but it was fully restored by 12:30 p.m.
