Acorn Elementary School received a $5000 grant from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to entice pollinators to window box flower gardens. Students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade will plant native flowers in window boxes and identify insects, hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators that visit the window box.
Nature journalism will include writing poems, drawing pictures, writing narratives, weather information, and more. This project will integrate science, reading, writing, and social studies.
