The Polk County Extension Homemakers are hosting a workshop to teach others how to make a Microwave Bowl Holder. The event will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 10 a.m. until noon at the Extension Education Center at 211 DeQueen Street in Mena.
“Don’t burn your fingers when you heat your bowl of soup in the microwave,” said event organizers. Fabric and pattern will be provided, however, participants are asked to bring 1/3 of a yard of cotton fabric and cotton flannel, or cotton quilt batting for the inside of the bowl holder. You may also bring sewing supplies such as scissors, rotary cutter and mat, pins, thread, and sewing machines.
