The Polk County Sheriff’s Department conducted a raid on Thursday morning, April 13, 2017, that resulted in two men being arrested for drugs and firearms.
Around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant at 409 Polk 10 in Wickes. The warrants were the result of a month-long undercover operation. A large amount of methamphetamine was found at the location, along with guns and drug paraphernalia.
Arrested in the case were Floyd Paul Evans, age 58 of Wickes, and Don Lester Hoglan, age 59 of Grannis.
Evans has been initially charged with Delivery of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
Hoglan has been initially charged with Possession of a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both men are currently in the Polk County Detention Center awaiting formal arraignment and formal charges.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Department with the operation were members of Arkansas Game and Fish, Arkansas State Police, and Grannis Police Department.
As a note, all persons within this report are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
