The Mena Ladycats (0-5) softball team hosted the Fouke Lady Panthers last Friday, March 9th.
Fouke scored an early run in the first inning, and added on three more in the top of the third. The Ladycats were quick to answer in the bottom of the fourth, scoring a run of their own, to make the sore 4-1. Attempting a comeback, Mena added on another two runs in the bottom of the fifth, to narrow the Lady Panthers lead down to one, 4-3. However, in the top of the seventh, Fouke drove in one more run, while holding the Ladycats scoreless, to make the final score 5-3, in favor of the Lady Panthers.
On Monday of last week, March 5th, the Ladycats traveled to Genoa Central and were defeated in another close one, 2-1. Following, on Tuesday, Mena hosted Cossatot River, and fell short by two runs, 7-5.
This week, on Monday, March 12th, the Ladycats hosted Prescott, and will host Horatio on Tuesday and Farmington on Friday.
