Polk County Judge, Brandon Ellison, has announced the appointment of Kris Lyle to the position of Coordinator in the Polk County office of Emergency Management. Lyle has been the interim Coordinator since January 1, 2019 when former Coordinator, Tommy Stueart, assumed the position of Chief of Police, for the City of Mena.
The Polk County Office of Emergency Management serves several functions for the county, such as; floodplain management, E-911 addressing, volunteer fire department coordination, safety training, search and rescue coordination, and general emergency management.
“I believe Kris is a good fit for this appointment because he knows the county, he knows the people of this county, he is and has been a volunteer fire department member for years, he is a reserve Deputy for the Sheriff, and has intimate knowledge of the functions of that office. After interviewing and considering the top three candidates for this position, I believe Kris is the right choice for Polk County at this point in time”, said Judge Ellison, when commenting about the decision.
