Mena Police Department – September 22 – 28

The following information was received from the Mena Police Department for the week of September 23 – September 29, 2013.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

September 22, 2013

A local man reported that he had been beaten.  Case is pending further investigation.

Debra A. Emry, 49, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after an incident at a local convenience store.

Rodney Joe Emry, 41, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

September 23, 2013

Employees at a local convenience store reported a gas skip.  The driver later returned and paid for the fuel.

September 24, 2013

Report was taken of a fight among several local women.  Case is pending further investigation.

A local man reported having been attacked.  Case is pending interview of suspects and further investigation.

Steven Ray Hogan, 38, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

September 25, 2013

A local man reported the theft of several hand tools from a local residence.  Case is pending

A 10-year-old Mena boy was charged with theft of property.

September 26, 2013

A 12-year-old Mena boy was charged with theft of property after an investigation into a sum of money missing from a local school.

Owner of a local retail store reported the theft of a stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer from the loading dock of the store.  Case is pending.

Eric Jonathan Burk, 30, of Cove was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and having no proof of insurance.

Joseph Dwain Schell, 23, of Mena was charged with shoplifting, fleeing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and impairing a vital public facility.

No criminal reports filed.

September 28, 2013

A local woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor when neighbors reported that her small child was frequently unattended and on a high balcony.

Officers completed an additional 12 reports and worked six accidents.
