Students, parents, and staff can now report bullying anonymously.
The Rave Eyewitness can be used by K-12 public and charter schools in the state. The texting platform will enable people to provide officials with tips concerning bullying in schools.
With the ability to remain anonymous, those who do not feel comfortable speaking with an adult will be able to send a text message using a unique keyword. A school administrator will be notified and then will be able to gain insight into tip categories resulting in possible proactive programs.
The reports can be useful in incident management and post-action procedures. Districts across the state will begin implementing the new tool over the next few weeks.
