The Arkansas Urban Forestry Council will host a “Trees Grow Your Business” workshop explaining how trees can encourage economic development by attracting businesses and visitors, which can ultimately increase a city’s tax base.
Held at the Old Historic Armory in Mena Thursday, July 25, from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees will learn how to develop a landscape ordinance and design streetscapes. A case study detailing a successfully implemented tree project will be shared.
The Tree City USA program and the benefits of urban trees will also be highlighted during this workshop.
Community leaders, municipal representatives, local organizations and others looking to enhance their community with trees are encouraged to attend this informative workshop.
Registration is free, thanks to the Arkansas Regional Coalition of the Ouachitas, Downtown Partners, Rich Mountain Community College, Rich Mountain Community College Foundation and University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.
