BY LEANN DILBECK –
Mena, Cossatot River, Acorn and Oden Schools have cancelled classes for Monday, December 9. Both districts explained that the conditions of back roads remains too treacherous and realize many are still without power.
Benny Weston, Superintendent of Mena Schools, said his district would spend the day tomorrow on campus clean-up, clearing debris and limbs caused from the ice storm that hit the county hard on Friday, causing a widespread power outage.
Rich Mountain Community College, Bethel Christian School and Grace Place Academy have also announced that they too will close for December 9.
Mena Family Health Center will delay opening their offices until 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
We will continue to keep this link updated with continued cancellations, postponements and delays as we are notified.
