On Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at approximately 4 p.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an accidental shooting at a residence on Stone Lane north of Mena.
Upon arrival at the residence, deputies discovered Monica Quillin, age 42, of Mena, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Arkansas State Police CID were called to the scene to assist in the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Quillin’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
