2014 Standridge National Family Reunion

The Standridge National Family Society, organized in 1989, announces that its next National Standridge Family Reunion will be held in Greenville, SC on Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27, 2014. The Clarion Inn and Suites, 50 Orchard Park Drive just off I-385 will be the reunion headquarters. Members, friends, and anyone with an interest in the Standridge surname are invited to attend. For additional information or a sample copy of the organization’s newsletter contact Russell P. Baker at or call 501-888-6981.

Many members of the Standridge Family are descended from early SC pioneers, James Standridge, a Revolutionary War Veteran, and Thomas Standridge, who were living in old Pendleton District, SC as early as 1790. James was a veteran of the American Revolution who is buried in Oconee County, SC. Thomas’ son, Alexander Standridge, was an early settler in Arkansas Territory. Other family members were early settlers of Franklin and Habersham Counties in GA and Cherokee County, NC. DNA evidence has traced the family back into MD, NC, SC, GA, TN, IN, and IL.

Field trips, tours, and research opportunities are in the reunion plans. This year’s reunion theme is “My Family, My Strength.”
