The 2nd annual Foundation Frenzy 5K Color Run was held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 as a fundraiser to benefit the Mena Regional Health System Foundation and was a huge success according to organizers.
“We would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, participants,” said Sonya Maye, MRHS Marketing/Special Events. “The Foundation Frenzy would not have been a success without the outstanding support of our community. It’s wonderful to see so many families enjoying such a memorable event together.”
Around $8,000 was raised with 214 entrants participating in the race that will benefit the hospital’s foundation.
The overall male winner was Joseph Looney, who ran the 5k in a time of 20:58. Jasmine Johnson was the overall female runner with a time of 24:33.
Maye said the Foundation is already looking towards next year’s race. “We are already discussing additional plans for some new twists on next year’s Foundation Frenzy. We look forward to continuing to offer our signature event for years to come.”
