Due to the storm that rolled through Polk County last night, the Polk County Communication Center has suffered significant lightning strikes. All of the county’s 911 calls are being routed through Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
If you call 911, please be sure to advise them that you are located in Polk County. Also, be sure to give them all of your contact information (name, phone numbers, physical location, etc.) so that they will be able to address your emergency efficiently and contact you in return if necessary.
Polk County’s communication towers are also non-operational. Therefore, communications will be spotty at best until this issue is resolved. Local officials ask everyone to please be patient as they do their best to work through these weather-related problems as quickly as possible.
