BY JUDY THOMPSON –
The board and members of the Ouachita Little Theatre are pleased to have Brad Storey back serving as a play director. After completing his walk across the country adding awareness to the Audubon Society, he wrote and published a book (Coast to Coast) about his journey. Storey is now again active with OLT and is working with the Junior Ouachita Little Theatre (JOLT) as director of the summer production, The Secret Garden.
Natalie Ford, JOLT Vice-President, will be serving as the Assistant Director. Stage Manager is Faith Amidei. Most of the roles will have two actors sharing the character. In doing so, those sharing roles will each perform one weekend. The cast is as follows: Narrator: Genesis Howard: Martha: Katelin Haines and Jessia Moe; Mary: April Burt and Alexia Howard; Colin: Morgan Caldwell and Jeremiah Kelley; Mrs. Medlock: Emily Davis and Natalie Ford; Mr. Craven: Jared Sweeten and Chris Ford; Dr. Craven: Zack Atchley; Dickson: Braden Purvis; Ben: Katie O’Rear and Ian Bills; and Robin: Ariana Kelley.
Natalie Ford notes that The Secret Garden is an inspiring, uplifting drama. She stated that it’s a wonderful play and the cast is delightful. Storey is excited that two ten-year old girls are sharing the lead in this outstanding story.
Both JOLT summer productions, Hansel & Gretel and The Secret Garden, will be performed on the same dates. Hansel & Gretel, a one-act play, will begin at 7:00 PM on the Friday and Saturday dates. The Secret Garden will begin immediately after the intermission. Sunday performances begin at 2:00 PM. Dates are June 20 – 22 and June 27 – 29.
