Cossatot River State Park Interpreter, Shelley Flanary spoke to group at Cove Branch of Polk County Library Wednesday, 13 August, at 4PM about the many interesting facts of the Cossatot River State Park. “Cossatot” is a French word meaning “skull crusher” a reference to the use of the Caddo Indian tomahawk. Shelley Flanary and Andrew Rawlings plan to visit on Wednesday, 10 September, at 4 PM to present a program on wild plants, edible and poisonous; we’ll make pine needle tea. Don’t miss it. Cove library plans to have Cossatot River State Park presentations the second Wednesday of each month at 4PM.
