BY BARBARA M. TOBAIS –
The Art Awareness program for April will be a presentation by Susan Sebren of how to create paper maché sculptures. It will be held at the Mena Art Gallery, 607 Mena Street, on Tuesday, April 21, at 5:00 pm. Admission is free.
Susan led one of our first classes for young artists recently, creating paper maché sculptures; everyone had such a great time that she held a second class the following week to go into it a little deeper.
Many of you probably remember something about paper maché from elementary school art classes, but the medium is capable of creating much more sophisticated works. You have only to see some of Susan’s whimsical paper maché creations to realize that.
