
Marie was born in Lewiston, North Carolina on May 30, 1933 to the late Clifton Harrell and the late Alma Mizelle Harrell. She was happily married to Bill Rucker for sixty years until his death. She was a Bookkeeper for Mena Water Department for 30 years until retiring. Marie loved her family and church family, and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her great-grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and enjoyed flower gardening. Her faithful companion was her dog, Alma, which she adored. Marie was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Marie is survived by daughters, Debbie Frost and husband Benny of Mena, Arkansas, Verna Metscher and husband J. G. of Tontitown, Arkansas, Caroline Rucker of Mena, Arkansas; grandchildren, Tiffany and Kevin Williams of Mena, Arkansas, Shane and Lauren Frost of Mena, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Tessa Williams, Jenna Williams, Barrett Frost; and brother, Herbert “Monk” Harrell of Shelby, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Alma Harrell, and her husband, Bill Rucker.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 14, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church with Brother Gary Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Pallbearers will be Benny Frost, Kevin Williams, Shane Frost, J.G. Metscher, Doyle Dean Beck, and Shelton Bohlman.
Visitation will be general.
