Grant Writing Workshop to be Held April 16th

A grant writing and climate change workshop is being held on Saturday, April 16^th, to teach the ‘ins and outs’ of writing grants and receiving free money. The workshop is free and will be presented by Kathy Rusert. Patrons will leave the workshop with a grant ready to be submitted and with the resources to use to find, apply and get money to fund your projects.  It is being combined with a training exercise on the new PLT module teaching about Climate Change. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end around 3:00 p.m. at Cossatot River State Park and has been approved by ADE for PD credit.
Join Cossatot River State Park interpreters Rusert for this special topic workshop that supports the new K-12 Arkansas Science Standards.  The climate change workshop will feature PLT’s newest module called Southeastern Forest and Climate Change.  This is for K-12 educators and the activities from this new module will help students understand climate change, the carbon cycle, forest health, forest management strategies, and how consumers can make a difference through purchasing choices.  Activities contain teacher background information and instructions, student handouts, extension and assessment ideas, and additional resources.
