With the coming of the new year, came new leadership in the Humane Society of the Ouachitas (HSO). Michael Povey, long time member of HSO, has been voted in to take on the role of President. Jane Weddle will serve as Vice-President; Cheryl Murphy, Secretary; Sheila Theriot, Treasurer; and Tina Ball remains Shelter Manager. Other Board Members include Danny Bregman, Neal Fosdick, and Stephanie Povey.
Through the work of HSO, hundreds of dogs and cats are cared for before being adopted out to good homes both in and out of the state. They have also recently expanded their services to include low-cost spay and neuter fees for eligible candidates. To learn more, contact a member or call the shelter at 479-394-5682.
