The Arkansas State Highway Commission has announced their intent to improve portions of a handful of roads in south Polk County after bids for the projects were approved. Crow Paving, Inc., of Morrilton, was awarded the contracts with construction scheduled to begin in two to four weeks.
In Hatfield, .5 miles of Mershon Drive will be improved. The winning bid on that project was $259,155.69.
In Cove, a total of 1.5 miles of Lewis Street and Barton Avenue are expected to receive resurfacing and in Wickes, 1.3 miles of Oak Grove Road and Old Highway 71 are on the list. Those projects bid out at $478,386.40.
All projects are expected to be completed by mid-2017.
