Mr. Richard Bernard Bismark, age 89, of Cove passed away September 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by those he loved.
Richard was born to the late Werner Bismark and the late Gertrude Kindler Bismark. He was married to Jean Ware Bismark for 14 years. Mr. Bismark served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also served in the Army as an MP (Military Police) for 2 years. He was born, raised and lived in Hatton, Arkansas where he enjoyed cattle ranching. He was a member for many years of the First Baptist Church in Vandervoort, Arkansas and was a member of the Wickes Masonic Lodge where he was a past master. He was a skilled carpenter and built many houses. Richard was a loving husband, brother, and friend and will be missed by all of those who knew him.
He is survived by wife, Jean Bismark of Hatton, Arkansas; sister, Lydia Fox of Washington; nieces, Leola Rye, Betty Frachiseur, Nora Bismark, Lana Ewing, and Toni Alexander; nephews, Paul Bismark, LeRoy Sanders and Bert Sanders; many more nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Werner and Gertrude Bismark, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, nephew Jerome Sanders and a special nephew Bill Bismark.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vandervoort, Arkansas with Brother Aaron Anglin officiating. Interment will follow in the Witherspoon Cemetery in Vandervoort under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Visitation is general.
Pallbearers are Jesse Oliver, Bill Barrett, Terry Williamson, Eric Sanders, Jon Weldon Rye and Jimmy Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wickes Masonic Lodge, Don Apple and Kenny Werst.
