As holiday travel begins for many, motorists in Arkansas should be aware that law enforcement officers from state, county, and local departments will be conducting a high- visibility Click or Ticket It enforcement campaign.
Beginning Monday, officers will be patrolling various roadways through the state, especially Interstate 40, to ensure drives and their passengers are wearing their seat belts.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Board estimates that proper seat belt usage reduces the risk of fatal injury to front passengers by 45 percent and the risk of moderate to serious injury by 50 percent.
