Arkansas State Police worked a collision between an 18-wheeler and an Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight that occurred on Hwy 71 South at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday morning. The identities of the parties have not yet been released.
According to eye-witnesses, the Oldsmobile was north bound and began crossing the center-line into the path of the south bound 18-wheeler. The driver of the 18-wheeler went as far onto the shoulder as possible to avoid the collision but the front of the car still made impact with the rear axle of the rig.
Witnesses said the injuries to the driver of the Oldsmobile appeared to have been minor and that he refused treatment by the Emergency Personnel. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.
The Pulse will update this story as soon as the official Arkansas State Police Report is made available.
