On Saturday, February 11, 2017, the Acorn Archery teams participated at Regional competition in Delight, Arkansas. Teams from around the region including Mena, Cossatot, and DeQueen competed for one of the top three seats to receive an invitation to Archery State competition.
Acorn Archery Senior High team placed third in the region with a total score of 3073. In addition, Senior Chantry Blake was the high overall shooter of the tournament with a 289. Freshman Brody Webb came in 2nd in the tournament with a 288. Junior Bridgette Magness placed 2nd in the female division with a score of 282. Acorn Archery will compete at the State tournament in Hot Springs on March 4, 2017. Acorn hopes to make a repeat visit to the Nationals tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. Coach Standridge and Coach Lyle are very pleased with all the archers and look forward to future successes.
