Mr. Mabry’s E/LA Acorn Middle School recently participated in a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each student secured a sponsor who agreed to donate one cent for every page read between the dates of December 5 and December 17. An individual goal of 500 pages was set and many students far surpassed this goal. Even with the challenges caused by the recent ice storm students were still able to raise over $600.00. The sole purpose of the fundraiser was to raise awareness for St. Jude’s and have students focus on giving during the holidays.
