(MENA) Polk County Coroner will see a new Cadaver Cooler coming his way, after Polk County Quorum Court approved purchasing a new unit for $7071 from a Tennessee firm.
The current Cadaver Cooler that is located at the Beasley – Wood Funeral Home, was put up for bids and only one acceptable bid was accepted, by Beasley – Wood Funeral Home for $2500. The appraised value of the cooler was $3300.
The cadaver cooler is needed for the occasional use of holding a body for the State Crime Lab. In addition, the coroner must have continued custody and access to the cooler, according to state regulations.
