The Mena/Polk County Chamber of Commerce has announced they will award twelve scholarships in their 2017 Scholarship Program thanks to the generosity of their membership and community.
The 12 scholarships are to be awarded to two seniors at each of the county’s three school districts, as well as two for private or homeschool students, for a total of eight scholarships, each worth $800, to be given to area graduating seniors.
In addition, the Chamber will also offer two $800 scholarships to non-traditional students and two $800 scholarships to military veteran students. Each of the twelve awards are one-time scholarships and will be paid to the institute of the recipient upon furnishing proof of enrollment.
Eligibility includes: Must be employed by or be the dependent of an employee of a Chamber of Commerce member; must be a resident in Polk County; must have a 3.00 GPA; must enroll as a full time college student; and must submit completed application no later than April 28, 2017.
Criteria for awarding scholarship includes: Academics, Community Service Involvement, and Recommendations.
