Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, the National Retail Federation announced that Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) received their “Hero of Main Street” award. “The Hero of Main Street” award is given annually as part of National Small Business Week. This year, it was given to a bipartisan group of 258 members of Congress for their support of small business and the U.S. retail industry, the nation’s largest private sector employer.
“A quick stroll down any main street in Arkansas reveals that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Too often, politicians in Washington forget this fact as they advocate policies that grow the size of government unnecessarily and harm businesses,” said Cotton. “I am honored to receive this award and I will continue to fight to get government out of the way of small business owners and their customers.”
