Washington, D.C.— Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on President Obama’s veto of legislation that would have repealed the Waters of the United States rule:
“Last night President Obama demonstrated once again that in his White House, liberal environmentalists come before the needs of rural America. The Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule effectively ties farmer’s hands on everything from when to plant to how often they can run a tractor. It even seeks to regulate mud puddles on family farms. This rule is bad for Arkansas and our state economy. Arkansans have been taking care of our land and our water for generations—we don’t need Washington bureaucrats to start trying to interfere now. Rest assured, I will continue to fight against back against WOTUS and all forms of EPA overreach.”
