Cotton Statement on United Healthcare’s Decision to Pull Out of Arkansas’s Individual Exchange Market
Washington, D.C.— Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on United Healthcare’s decision to pull out of Arkansas’s individual exchange market:
“United Healthcare’s decision to pull out of Arkansas’s individual exchange market next year confirms what we’ve known all along: Obamacare’s promises of more options, lower prices, and better health-care weren’t worth the paper they were printed on. Instead, we’ve gotten just the opposite. Today’s announcement means that thousands of Arkansans will lose their health-care plans next year. And many others will see their costs increase while the quality of their health-care network decreases. How much more damage do we have to incur before President Obama realizes Obamacare just isn’t working? I am committed to saving Arkansans from the worst effects of Obamacare, so I’m working to repeal this fatally flawed law and replace it with a better, patient-centered approach that truly increases access, reduces costs, and puts patients and doctors in charge of care—not Washington bureaucrats.”
