WICKES – Cossatot River State Park and Natural Area will once again host its annual Half Marathon Trail Run this weekend.
Park interpreters will host the 11th annual trail run on Saturday, Oct. 15. Registration begins at 6 a.m. at the Cossatot River Visitor Center and a shuttle will leave at 7 a.m. to take participants to the start line at the Brushy Creek Recreation Area. The half-marathon itself begins at 8 a.m.
The park will host a meal beginning at 11 a.m. and will present awards at 11:45 a.m.
Those interested in competing in the race can find more event information and register online at www.getmeregistered.com.
All area residents are invited to challenge their abilities in the mountainous terrain of the Cossatot River State Park for this 13.1 mile single track trail run. Take your time and enjoy the scenic trail or push yourself to the limits and compete for the top honors. Either way this will be an enjoyable event, park organizers say.
Park officials said they are grateful for a number of area businesses for their generous donations in support of the annual half-marathon trail run.
For more information contact the park at (870) 385-2201. Cossatot River State Park and Natural Area is located 12 miles east of Wickes on Highway 278.
