A single vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Friday has claimed the life of a Mena woman. The accident is the second fatal car crash in less than a week in the the same location on Hwy 8 West, near Polk 41, commonly referred to by locals as Peach Orchard Road.
Michelle Berry, age 20, was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata when her vehicle left the highway as she was negotiating the curve and struck a tree. The vehicle wasn’t located until approximately 3 a.m. but after interviewing neighbors, Arkansas State Trooper Bo Hayes believes the incident to have occurred close to midnight.
Berry has been entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home.
