A Hot Springs attorney with Polk County roots and connections was arrested twice last week by the Garland County Sheriff’s Department on Class C Felony charges. Andrea “Andi” L. Davis, age 36, was arrested first on January 16 for Theft by Receiving and then again on a second charge on January 17, also Theft by Receiving.
Davis is a 1996 Wickes High School graduate and has served as a Public Defender before the Polk County Circuit Court since 2011. Davis is no stranger to headlines having received state-wide media attention during Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel’s step down from his gubernatorial bid after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with Davis.
The property in question was found at her home at 251 Ledgerwood Road in Hot Springs and the same address where a man, Maxwell Anderson, was shot to death in 2012 in her driveway. Davis was questioned but no charges have ever been filed and the case is still considered open.
After initial questioning by deputies, investigators and agents with the 18th Judicial Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant that revealed in her possession a 2004 Hot Springs Trailer, valued at $1,500, and a 2009 CM Cargo Trailer, valued at $4,000. Inside the residence, agents recovered a Craftsman shop-vac, Delta 12 in. planer, Senco nail finisher, and numerous other tools with an estimated value of $3,600.
Davis was released on $3,500 bond and is expected to appear in district court on January 28.
