A house at 127 Emerald Lane north of Acorn was a complete loss after catching fire yesterday [Wednesday, November 30, 2016] just after noon. The house is owned by Brenda Martin. It took firefighters an hour to gain control of the flames with Acorn, Ink, Dallas Valley, and Polk County Emergency Management responding. Although winds were high, firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined. Three individuals were inside the home when it caught fire but all were able to get out safely. The family has lost everything. We do not have details yet as to where donations can be taken but we will keep you updated or you can call the family at 479-216-5643.
