House is Complete Loss Following Early Morning Fire

Members of the Rocky and Shady Grove Fire Departments battled a house fire on the morning of Monday, October 2, 2016. The call came into 911 at 5:18 a.m. regarding a house fire at 1034 Polk Road 47. Firefighters were on the scene until almost 9 a.m. Officials reported that the fire started under the front porch of the home.

Homeowners, Jared and Kim Moore said the house was a complete loss. Kim also expressed that the family is in need of clothing. Their 16 year-old needs a size 10/12 pants, large shirts, and wears a size 9 shoe. Their toddler wears 24-month to 2T clothing and a size 6/7 toddler shoe. Jared is a size 34/34, large shirts, and a size 10/10.5 shoe. Kim wears a 36 inseam, size 12, large shirts, and size 12 shoe. Efforts are underway to receive clothing/household donations and we will keep you updated as that information becomes available.

    Our church family Faith Missionary Baptist is also having a 4:19 ministries fish fry supper on Oct 30 at 1pm at the church fellowship hall.
    Thank you to all the firefighters at shady Grove and Rocky that risked their lives to get our most valuable items and our family Schnauzer out after 1.5 hours of fighting fire she was found alive unharmed physically under the far wall under our oldest bed.
