The Mena Advertising & Promotion Commission will be hosting a Tourism Day Luncheon on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the University of Arkansas – Rich Mountain’s Ouachita Center. Joe David Rice, Tourism Director for the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, will be the featured speaker.
Tourism is a $26.2 million industry in Mena and Polk County, with the community hosting of 100,000 visitors annually. The luncheon will highlight the importance of tourism to the state and local economy and efforts to grow tourism in Arkansas and Mena. The luncheon will also feature a preview of the upcoming 40th Annual Lum & Abner Festival which will be held at Mena’s Janssen Park on Friday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 3rd.
