On September 7, 2016, Rich Mountain Community College hosted extraordinaire Craig Karges for their 3rd Annual Senior Day event in the Ouachita Center with hundreds of area high school seniors in attendance. Students joined together in the Dick and Frances Carver Grand Hall to learn about what RMCC has to offer as they prepare to graduate and enter college.
Financial Aid, a potential hurdle on the path to higher education, was discussed and cost comparisons with universities were presented. While the urge to break out on your own is tempting, setting a strong academic foundation at RMCC can help ensure success when a student transfers to a university or enters the workforce. Whether a student wishes to complete a Technical Certificate, Associate Degree, or transfer on to complete their Bachelors degree, RMCC is ready to help them take that first step.
For the second year, mentalist and extraordinaire Craig Karges combined the art of magic with the science of psychology and the power of intuition to create the impression on the students that nothing was impossible. Karges performed mind-blowing tricks such as levitating tables and ESP talent. In one bit, he pulled members of the audience to be part of a real life ‘Clue’ game that was extraordinary.
In the afternoon, students participated in the Clubapalooza event, which was an event held on the Beam Veranda and Union Bank Plaza. Clubapalooza allows students and community members to meet RMCC student organizations and to get involved. SGA, PTK, Science Club, and Math Club members set up information exchange tables to engage and involve RMCC students in clubs and organizations on campus.
For the evening event, Craig performed for the students and general public. He amazed the crowd with his memory techniques, tested their intuition, and encouraged them to tap into their subconscious mind to enhance creativity, intuition and decision-making.
