The Mena High School Sr. High Ladycats hosted the Dierks Lady Outlaws at the Union Bank Center for their first home game of the season on Monday, November 27.
In a low scoring first quarter, the Ladycats outscored Dierks 8-6, to take a 2 point lead into the second quarter of play. Only 14 total points were scored in the second, as Mena outscored the Lady Outlaws 10-4, taking an 8 point, 18-10, lead into halftime.
At halftime, Gabby Strasner led Dierks with 4 points, as Paige Evans led the Ladycats with 8 points.
The game retained its same pace in the third quarter, as Mena outscored the Lady Outlaws just 10-9, to extend their 1, to 9. Dierks attempted a come back in the final quarter, narrowing the Ladycats lead to only 3 points. However, Mena regained their lead and finished off the fourth quarter with 14 points to the Lady Outlaws 12 points. Making the final score 42-31 in favor of the Ladycats.
Gabby Strasner led the Dierks Lady Outlaws with 21 points on the night, while Jaycee Runnels added on 4 points, Delaney Eckert 3 points, Halle Mounts 2 points, and Gracie Thomas 1 point.
Grace Wagner led the Mena Ladycats with 9 points, as Kiara Kesterson, Tateli Thacker, and Paige Evans scored 8 points each, Cadie Cannon 6 points, and Destiny Ortiz 3 points.
