Mena High School Bearcat Chorus and Spotlight Singers will present their Spring concert on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the high school Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature a senior duet by Felix Nguyen and Szilvia Fuleki, and senior soloists Abi McPherson and Kelsey Wiggins. Abi and Kelsey will also be featured dancers in the opening number “Sing”, a recent hit by Pentatonix performed by the combined choirs.
Other numbers sung by the combined groups will be “Hallelujah” from the movie Shrek, “Bohemian Rhapsody” featuring Mr. Todd Coogan on guitar, and the traditional concert closer, “Why We Sing”.
The Bearcat Chorus will add “The Ballad of Sweeney Todd” and “Lava” to the program, while the Spotlight Singers will perform “I Ask For One Day”, “Beauty School Dropout”, and “It’s Raining Men”. The ladies of the Bearcat Chorus will present the Led Zeppelin classic “Stairway to Heaven,” while the Bearcat Chorus men will sing the Coldplay hit, “Viva la Vida”.
Choir awards will also be presented during the concert. Make your plans now to attend a wonderful evening of entertainment provided by the award winning Mena High School choirs.
