Mena Junior Boys Track Wins Booneville Meet


Mena Junior Bearcat Track Team won their first meet ever when they travelled to Booneville on March 13th. The boys team placed 1st out of 14 teams competing.

The 4×800 meter team won first for the 3rd time this season with Damon Clark, Thadeus Nance, Devin Adams, and Curtis Curry.

The 4×100 meter team took second with Zane Stephens, Marc Wilson, Devin Adams, and Iaza Ingoglia. Braxton Bahr placed second in shot put and 1st place in discus.

Blake Castor got 4th in discus. Chris Bollmeyer got 2nd in high jump and 1st in 110m hurdles.

Mathew McCravens placed 2nd in pole vault with a vault of 8ft 6in; Thadeus Nance placed 5th in pole vault.

Curtis Curry finished at the top of the 400m and 800m, taking first place in both events and Devin Adams finished in the top of the 800m.

Zane Stephens placed 5th in high jump and 5th in long jump, 1st in 200m, and 4th in 100m. Marc Wilson got 2nd in triple jump and 6th place in the 400m run.

Mena Junior Boys Track members are: 9th Grade: Iaza Ingoglia, Marc Wilson, Zane Stephens, Devin Adams, Jeremiah Swint, Andrew Graves, Curtis Curry, Braxton Bahr, and Jayden Castillo. 8th Grade: Mathew McCravens, Damon Clark, Sam Efird, Thadeus Nance, Logan Myers, Blake Castor, Kolbe Smith, Chris Bollmeyer, and Jet Hernandez.

Seventh grade also held a meet recently with Caleb Peters running a 5:36 mile and taking first place with Trey McMillan coming in second.

Seventh grade team members are: David Lee, Caleb Peters, Evan Graves, Ashton Powell, Austin Rose, Trey McMillian, Travis Thrailkill, Seth Fruen, Blake Brown,

Brendon Brown, Alex White, Jarrett Burger, Jonathan Diffee, Zack Medlin, Braxton Clayborn, Duncan McCauley, Noah Snyder, Logan Yang, Bobby Wallace, and Wilson Hughes.
