Mena Police Department: December 7-13, 2014

December 7, 2014

Timothy William Hooks, 29, of Mena was charged with theft-of-property (shoplifting) after a call to a local retail store and subsequent investigation.  He was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Report was taken of a missing cell phone.  The phone was loaned to a friend, and it disappeared while the friend had it.  Case is pending interview of suspects and witnesses.

December 8, 2014

Officers took a report of someone stealing items from a local electronics retailer.

Report was taken of the attempted theft of an iPad by a local youth.  Case is pending.

December 9, 2014

Report was taken of damage done at a local cemetery.  It appeared that a vehicle had left the roadway and had struck some gravestones.  Case is pending further investigation.

December 10, 2014 

Joseph Gonyea, 25, of Mena was charged with fleeing on foot after an incident on a local street.  Subsequently charged in the incident with disorderly conduct was Jordan Leigh Dobbs, 18, also of Mena.

December 11, 2014

Officers arrested an 18-year-old Mena man and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was turned over to juvenile authorities who were working with him.

December 12, 2014 

No criminal reports filed.

December 13, 2014

A local woman reported that a vehicle had run into a rock wall around her residence.  No suspects have been located.

Officers completed an additional 12 reports and worked three accidents.
