The following information was received from Polk County law enforcement agencies. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
September 15, 2013
Report was taken of a ring being stolen from the restroom of a local retail store. Case is pending interview of suspect and further review of surveillance tapes.
Brandi Fay Sanders, 26, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and having no proof of insurance. She was additionally issued a warning ticket for having no taillights on her vehicle.
Ryan Tugman, 24, of Mena was arrested for disorderly conduct after an incident at a wedding at Janssen Park.
September 16, 2013
An employee at a local nursing home reported that someone had broken into her vehicle and stolen several items, include medication. Case is pending.
Report was taken of a former employee of a local retail store having stolen several items during the time she was working there. The suspect pawned several of the items at a local pawnshop. Case is pending further investigation.
September 17, 2013
Nathan Vincent Smith, 35, of Mena was charged with hindering apprehension after a call to a local residence regarding a warrant for a parolee.
Whitney Breeden, 26, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for probation violation.
September 18, 2013
A Sallisaw, OK woman reported that while she was at the local skate park someone harassed her and caused her cell phone to be broken. Case pending.
A local woman reported that she had been harassed and threatened while she was at work. The suspects are former friends of the victim. Case is pending.
September 19, 2013
Officers responded to a citizen’s report of a local auto repair shop being left open. The area was searched and the door secured.
Officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious person on a local street. No person was located.
A local woman reported that someone had damaged her mailbox. Case is pending.
September 20, 2013
No criminal reports filed.
September 21, 2013
No criminal reports filed.
Officers complete an additional nine reports and worked three accidents.
