The Mena School Board met on Tuesday, January 22nd. The Mena School Board approved the paving of the south parking lot at Louise Durham Elementary by Sealco Contractors. Paving should be completed in the coming week. A motion was made and seconded to purchase a student tray slide shelf for the Holly Harshman cafeteria. The board was given an update on the upcoming FFA Alumni Auction and the regional basketball tournament. Head football coach Tim Harper spoke to the board about football helmets, stating that a large number of helmets must be replaced in the coming year and now would be a good time to make changes. The board approved those changes. The board ended the meeting by voting to extend the contract of Benny Weston as Superintendent through 2022.
