(MENA) The Mena Bearcats baseball team finished up their regular season home finale against Arkadelphia and it didn’t have any dull moments whatsoever.
The Bearcats came to bat in the bottom of the first inning already trailing 3-0, before unleashing a barrage of hot bats and going up 4-3.
After that, it was a rollercoaster of a contest. Arkadelphia came back and scored seven runs in the top of the 2nd inning and ran ahead with a 10-4 lead.
Mena didn’t give up as the Bearcats battled back with three runs in the bottom of the second inning and five more runs in the third inning, before eventually losing the battle with Arkadelphia scoring thirteen runs over the next four innings and dropping a 22-12 loss.
Mena finished up their 2019 season with a resounding 21-6 victory over Hope on Monday. The Bearcats finished the season with a 6-16 overall record and 2-10 in the 4A-Region 7 standings.
The Mena Ladycats softball team finished up their regular season home finale against Arkadelphia, with a 15-0 shellacking on Friday, April 26th.
Mena finished up their 2019 season with the victory that snapped a five game losing streak. The Bearcats finished the season with a 5-15 overall record and 4-8 in the 4A-Region 7 standings.
