Winter weather has once again struck the local area. Ice has been accumulating on limbs since noon. Road conditions are deteriorating and has once again forced area schools to begin canceling classes. Currently, Acorn and Mena Public Schools will be closed Monday, March 3, due to icy roads conditions.
Mena Superintendent Benny Weston told The Pulse that students will now lose their Good Friday holiday and will attend school on April 18 for the make-up day. Acorn will now extend their school year until June 3.
The Dr. Seuss character dress-up contest, that was scheduled for Monday, March 3, is now moved to Wednesday March 5 at Louise Durham and Holly Harshman Elementary schools.
